| Course Reg. Code: | LEAN152 | Course Duration: | 2 Days | Course Availability: | On-site Courses |
Course Description
Many organizations have attempted quick changeover kaizen workshops without ever understanding the underlying principles of Lean Six Sigma or what the expected results should be. Quick Changeover is a key component of SigmaPro’s Lean Six Sigma training curriculum, and it is a streamlined method to enable for leveling mixed production. The goals are to reduce inventory and backlog, improve product and process quality, and improve responsiveness to changes in demand. This Quick Changeover Workshop is modeled after the research of Shigeo Shingo, a renowned specialist in Lean Six Sigma improvement. This Workshop successfully combines classroom training and hands on application of the techniques, assuming that the Workshop takes place at the participant's manufacturing facility or operations center. Participants are educated in the theory and techniques used to reduce setup times on equipment, machinery and processes. Learning is applied immediately in operations. By using on-site equipment for hands on application during the workshop, participants are able to quickly reduce the setup time in their operation and quantify the time savings. Participants can then share these learnings with others in the organization and assist them to apply these techniques throughout the operation. Typical results from this class include a 50% to 90% reduction in setup time with minimal or no capital investment. These results are typically obtained within one month of the class.

| Course Reg. Code: | LEAN162 | Course Duration: | 2 Days | Course Availability: | On-site Courses |
Course Description
A few organizations are lucky enough to exist in a production environment of stable demand and low product variety. Most organizations exist in a production environment with a wide variety of products, variable demand, different cycle times, and shared resources. The Mixed Model Flow Workshop is another key component of SigmaPro’s Lean Six Sigma training curriculum. This Workshop extends the concepts of value stream mapping to show you how to apply Lean Six Sigma principles in a high-mix, variable demand environment. The content provides a detailed step-by-step methodology as to how to start with an existing “As Is” map for a complex production process and how to develop the “Should Be” process while accounting for production complexity.
Candidate Qualifications
There are no specific candidate requirements for this particular course. Typical participants include Operations Managers, Senior Technologists, Design and Process Engineers, Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Green Belts from Lean Six Sigma and industrial organizations.
Participants Will Learn
How to identify and select product families for optimization in a high-variety, mixed-model environment How to create a value stream map for multiple products that flow using a “pull” system How to calculate takt time How to create standard work for a mix of products with varying cycle times How to create a proper “pull” system in a mixed model environment using shared equipment How to develop, implement and operate a kanban system and supermarkets How to set up first-in/first-out (FIFO) queuing systems

| Course Reg. Code: | LEAN172 | Course Duration: | 3 Days | Course Availability: | On-site Courses |
Course Description
A core skill in Lean Six Sigma is how to identify where value is created in a business so that key processes can be streamlined. This is true whether the processes support the manufacture of products or the processing of transactions. Mapping the value stream helps organizations view their value stream as a system rather than as set of independent processes. By doing so, it enables them to identify problems that span the whole system and to create systematic improvements. These concepts are key to successful Lean Six Sigma deployment. This Value Stream Mapping Workshop provides participants with the know-how to produce value stream maps and to use them to find and eliminate waste. Creating solutions through the generation and analysis of “Should Be” value steams will also be covered in detail and in a manner completely consistent with the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
Candidate Qualifications
There are no specific candidate requirements for this particular course. Typical participants include Operations Managers, Senior Technologists, Design and Process Engineers, Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Green Belts from Lean Six Sigma or industrial organizations.
Participants Will Learn
